About Me
A chance for some honesty and reflection.
I have a lot of random ideas, usually at inconvenient times of the day. Sometimes they are just fleeting images in my head. However, more often than not, they are vivid, all consuming, exciting, insomnia fuel. The urge to somehow turn a few of these ideas into reality can be genuinely overwhelming.
I think there are two main sides that drive me to create things.
Art – There is a powerful enjoyment in finding some potential beauty, hidden inside a piece of abandoned metal, or in an unusual stone on the ground, or in the curves of wood that others had set aside for burning.
Engineering – I have had an office based career for the last decade, where I have always loved the chance to solve complicated problems.
It turns out that these sides are quite complementary when given enough caffeine and a shed to hide in.
I do not profess myself as a master woodworker, joiner, welder, or any of these black arts that takes a lifetime to perfect. I have the utmost admiration for people with these skills, and I honestly live in fear of their judgement! Having said that… I can happily spend literal hours overthinking the best way to create something beautiful using the handful of skills that I do have.

Where it's possible to use them for a project, I draw inspiration from locally reclaimed and found materials. Therefore, all my products are unique.

If you have any artistic challenges / engineering problems that might keep me awake at night, I’d love to hear about them.

P.S.
Everything here, I owe to my wife-to-be Holly, for her encouragement, inspiration, help, and patience.
Thanks also to my family, as I have been inspired by their free spirits, encouragement, and their staggering creative talents for years.
